Our adoptive parents are a great support for each other and those who are in the beginning of the adoption process. Check this page for continuous advice, helpful hints, and stories on your future trips to Russia, potential ups and downs to expect, and on raising a child from a different culture.
"We are having a WONDERFUL time with Roman! He is the
happiest baby I have ever met and now we have the privilege of
being his parents. Kaitlin is doing great with him also;
although, she is now acting out a bit against us, her parents,
trying to compete for attention (a 3-year-old thing). Roman is
eating a LOT!! We are going slow with the foods - introducing
one baby food at a time. He is a chunker- - he weighs 21.2
pounds at 15 months, which is a LOT for a baby just coming
home from Russia. I think he probably enjoyed meal time while
he was in the baby home also!"- KJ
"SCARF REPORT: Scarves are not required in
Siberia in July. It is really hot there now. However, if it is
raining it could get a little chilly and damp. This was the
case in the city where we stopped to refuel. I brought a
very light weight one, just to be on the safe side."- AP
" The trip could not have gone
smoother...."- KH
"The trip was exhausting especially since I
was not able to sleep on the planes at all. However, the food
in Siberia was delicious. Our translators always helped us
select some wonderful meals. I love the dumpling soup! I had
no idea how beautiful the architecture was in Moscow. We went
sightseeing with the other families - we felt like we were on
a vacation - (although, we were exhausted!). I really enjoyed
hearing the people speak in Russian - I really love the
language and I wish we had had more time before our trip to
learn it a little better. Also, I really think that the
Russian people are beautiful. I guess all in all, I am pretty
excited about our experience. The trip was very difficult
because of the travel to Siberia and also leaving our daughter
for 9 days (that was the hardest part), but your people took
such great care of us. They are the best!"- KJ
"I finally have a moment to write you more
than one sentence. And rejoice!!! I am not writing you to ask
you ONE SINGLE QUESTION!!!!I want to tell you thank you from
the bottom of our hearts for giving us a chance. Most people
would have laughed at us if said we wanted to adopt but didn't
have any resources to do it with . You didn't.....God bless
you for doing this. Now we look back and see God's most
amazing hand in how He has miraculously provided . I remember
wondering how on earth any of this would ever happen, and here
we are leaving tomorrow for Siberia!!!! On behalf
of our family I thank you over and over again."-KH
